Responsibilities: The Controller is focused at the Business Unit level, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of accounting, operational finance reporting, and partnering with FP&A. This includes the production of timely and accurate financial reports, working with a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, ensure the accuracy on reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP.

  • Directly responsible for accurate and timely production of monthly accounting close process, including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained; calculate and issue financial, KPI’s, operating metrics and ad hoc reports
  • Leadership of (4) site Controllers
  • Perform cost center analysis, cost center allocations, and make recommendations to operations team and senior management
  • Manages general accounting, interact with cost accounting, performing all general ledger functions (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Sales Tax) and accountable for production of financial statements for multiple entities
  • Oversee the reviewing of journal entries required to reflect monthly activities
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors and examiners
  • Directs the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances
  • Develops business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensures timely and complete financial statements and oversees the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Accurately reports the financial results of Applied Composites' s operations in accordance with
  • Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Analyze monthly variances (efficiency/volume/spending/rework expenses/purchase price/ variance/start-up) and follow-up with conversations to improve financial accuracy and implement improvements
  • Manage the accounting staff, coaches and develops employees; plan, monitor and hold team accountable for job results
  • Review & Prepare inter-company transactions and account reconciliations
  • Oversight of the Inter-company Profit in Inventory, responsible for the monthly accounting for the elimination of inter-company profit in the Company’s consolidated financial statements

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business administration
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing accounting, international financing is a plus.
  • Team management and development
  • Proven change agent and intellectual curiosity when problem solving, analyzing, organizing, and summarizing financial information.
  • Detailed and conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
