Talented Assistant Controller needed for this $350M manufacturing company in North Orange County. You will be responsible for all aspects of the corporate accounting functions. The individual’s primary responsibilities will be to execute these corporate functions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Execute all financial operations, including general ledger entries, account reconciliations and month-end and year-end close reporting.
  • Prepare timely and accurate accounting statements, reports and related financial information on advances, expenditures and reimbursements.
  • Lead the accounting system, as well as other support systems and advises management. Assists in resolving system problems and issues
  • Lead and/or support internal and external audits of the accounting processes and records
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training materials for the accounting functions in accordance with corporate quality program requirements.
  • Interface effectively with all functional organizations to maximize the efficiencies, ensure consistent understanding and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors and examiners
  • Assisting with the implementation new internal controls to ensure compliance and enhance the workflow of the accounting and contracts organization
  • Interface with suppliers/ vendors to obtain services necessary to meet organizational needs.
  • Actively seek to increase operations efficiency thru process improvement or cost reductions.
  • Develop relevant operations metrics to assess the health and status and/or overall risk posture of the operations functions
  • Supervise personnel in the corporate operations organization in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field
  • At least 10 years related experience in accounting in manufacturing accounting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style aimed at delivery of quality operations
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and MS Project
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Must be able to plan and organize time to work productively and efficiently while being able to adjust to changes in priorities and schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business administration, CPA preferred.
  • Strong ERP experience
